Privatizing Life

December 5, 2011

By the time you read this, 17 children worldwide will have lost their lives

Because 8 children die a minute in pursuit of potable water in order to survive

Partner that with the loss of husbands and wives

And you may end up cursing your eyes

Because you know these preventable mortalities will rise

Since water is now being privatized

Fed up with his monopoly over diamonds, gold, coltan, and coal

Man is now on a mission to monopolize Mother Nature’s soul

No longer able to swim and drink from our world’s deltas and tributaries

Fees for life-giving water will have to be paid to evade the obituaries

Structural Adjustment Programs have become the equivalent of fasting

For our world’s poorest governments must privatize water for loans everlasting

African Growth & Opportunity is being stunted by acts most tyrannic

While corporations scramble for H2O rights in a Berlin-Conference-style panic

The rights of the human and earth are no longer relevant

For the right to profit now sets the precedent

Lower water standards and a depleted water supply are soon to follow

As Mother Earth becomes the liquid-deficient Mars of tomorrow

From blood diamonds to “blood water”, history is rearing its third eye

Forewarning us of the coming strife which we can no longer deny

Civil wars will be waged in the wanton pursuit of the world’s water

Re-creating conflicts reminiscent of present-day patterns of slaughter

The developed world often acts in the most undeveloped methods

By capitalizing on the lifeline of impoverished livelihoods

From protecting corporate interests to interring corpses

The IFIs* have joined in the trade-marking of our life-giving resources

But many of us will fight this battle and that should now be apparent

For we won’t allow the blue bloodline of Mother Earth to become a patent

As man’s oil of the new millennium

The poorest of the poor dangle their lives below profit’s pendulum

Remaining inactive is an act in support of privatization and the death of man

So the blood of the 17 children that just died also lies on your hands

Occupy All Streets (a poem)

December 1, 2011

Occupy, occupy, occupy
We the people stand up won’t be pacified
Take a step back let me testify
See millions of people wanna test a lie
That says we need corporations to run our lives
But the 99 say it’s time to run our lives
So we gonna take a seat to stand up for the people
And we ain’t gonna stop til the laws make us equal
If the government wanna save banks with bailouts
We gonna kick em out of office, get them the hell out
We’re creating real change from the bottom up
So our children have a chance to live better than us
So we gonna occupy all streets starting with Wall Street
Takin’ down predators who prey while we all sleep
So let’s show the world that we’ll have no compromise
And let the world see the revolution be televised

If in Egypt they overthrew Mubarak
We can change leaders too, go beyond the barracks
No more Qaddafi in Libya
They can only hold on so long in Syria
When the people stand up can’t no one stop us
From Congo to Cali we gon’ stop the robbers
They can pepper spray our students, bloody our soldiers
We just come back like an avalanche droppin’ boulders
With the weight of the future resting on our shoulders
Won’t stop til this corporate culture of greed is over
Whileschool’s crumbling and the gulf coast getting pummeled
Billionaire execs livin’ life in a bubble
Making billions by the day trough tax loops and tradeoffs
When many should be going the way of Madoff
Too many layoffs while CEOs made off
But if we keep fighting we’ll see the payoff

Finland to Japan upstanders stand
From the U.K. and Sweden to the Netherlands
Across U.S. cities we ain’t lookin’ for pity
We’re lookin’ for a slice of the p-i-e
Some of us still believe in the American dream
But now it’s time you really hear Americans scream
Screaming for laws that protect every body
And not just those who can afford to lobby
So we gonna show up in your corporate lobby
Gonna show up on your golf course disrupt your hobbies
We real people creating real change for tomorrow
With human currency that the banks can’t borrow
You can’t prey on our spirits like you do on our wallets
The government’s bluffin’, and yeah we just called it
At the end of the day all we need is us
So let’s occupy the planet til they listen up!

Cain should not have responded to affair allegation

December 1, 2011

Herman Cain made a key mistake in responding to allegations by Ms. White of an affair. This is different from the issue of sexual harassment. This is a private matter between him, his wife, and Ms. White. To respond to this issue basically will lead potential voters to groups this issue with the issue of sexual harassment and that will lead more people to not trust him. He needs to focus more on the issues because he has not brought anything substantive to the political debate since his 9-9-9 plan.
