Obama’s rhetoric doesn’t match his record

January 25, 2012
While President Obama put out some ideas that really set him apart from his republican counterparts, his record on issues such as education and immigration do not match his rhetoric up to this point. Great speech but the proof is in the putting-in. We’ll see if he can make some serious progress on these goals because we all could benefit from his vision.

In defense…of Newt

Summary: The debates are clearly showing that the Republican public is turning towards Newt. The timing of the interview with his ex-wife will also support him because republican candidates will always win a battle against the media. Quite honestly, as long as his sexual relationships are legal, it should be a non-issue or at least one un-deserving of such vast attention.

Summary: Today’s MLK holiday is about peace and unity. It got me thinking of an event I saw in Boston. In this video, you’ll see some of Boston’s most talented youth coming together to celebrate their unique dance styles. No racism. No disrespect. Just kids having fun and being proud of who they are. We adults have much to learn from our youth.

Rapper Common (and hip-hop) will lose in a battle with Drake

January 15, 2012

Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-729714

Summary: While Common is lyrically skilled enough to handle Drake in a battle, Common is at a level in his career where he doesn’t need to be battling anyone

Breastfeeding shouldn’t be on Sesame Street

January 15, 2012

Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-729675

Summary: While I am definitely not against breastfeeding, I do not believe there need to be sections on Sesame Street dealing with it. What do you think?

Yo conservatives! All blacks are not on welfare!

January 15, 2012

Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-728823

Summary: Hermain Cain isn’t the only black person not on welfare! Some republican candidates still express serious stereotypes about black people that will hurt them in a general election

Some young blacks DO enjoy being married

January 15, 2012
Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-728708
While the institution of marriage seems to be under attack from all sides in America but particularly in the African American community, there are some of us who are young and African American, and enjoy being married. Our story shouldn’t be lost.

Mitt’s win good for Mormons

January 15, 2012

Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-726422

Mitt’s Iowa win should put many supporters of other candidates on notice who have trashed him for being Mormon and thus unelectable. Though an Iowa win doesn’t guarantee a nomination (though Clinton County apparently does), candidates should go forward focused on what they are for as opposed to what they’re against.

RAPping up 2011 (a real rap)!

January 15, 2012

Video on CNN.com: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-724522

I was thinking last night of all the top stories of 2011 and decided, why not have some fun and write another rap! I wrote this! Happy new year!

Newt! Come Clean!

January 15, 2012

All this back and forth about Gingrich’s past marriages is really making him look very arrogant, which never goes over well with voters, especially conservative ones.
